To try and keep patrons up to date on new books coming into the library, there is a new feature on our "What's New at the Library!" tab. It's a tool called Shelfari, and I must say, it's pretty cool.
Shelfari allows a user to build a virtual bookshelf for private or public use, to track books they have read or want to read, or for books that are owned or that are on a wish list. We're using it to create a space to showcase the new materials coming into the library. You can hover over a book and get a short description, or click on it to go to the library's Shelfari page to find out even more. Like most things these days, you can find your friends and look at their "shelfs", so if you like to do that kind of thing feel free to create your own. It was pretty easy to do and fun! It's powered by Amazon, which for the us makes it very convenient since 90% of our collection is purchased there. Check it out and let us know what you think!
