Books for Babies
Begin your little bookworm's love for reading!
The North Pike District Library believes that the love of reading is a love that will carry a person through a lifetime. NPDL is committed to bringing books into the lives of their residents, especially the youngest ones.
Books for Babies is a program designed to do just that. If you or someone you know lives in the North Pike District Library/ Griggsville-Perry School District and has had a child within the last year, the baby is eligible to receive a free book from the library! Why read to babies? Reading aloud: · teaches a baby about communication · calms a restless baby · introduces numbers, letters, shapes and colors in a fun way · helps a baby connect loved one’s voice with warmth, comfort and security · builds listening, memory and vocabulary skills · gives babies information about the world around them |
Ready for your child to receive his or her free book?
It’s easy to do! Stop in at the library and fill out the application form. Your baby will then be presented with his or her first “library” book. If you don’t already have a library card for yourself, this is also a perfect opportunity to get one. The library has a fun variety of children’s books you can checkout and read with your child. |
